Magpie Monday on Wednesday: Someone’s in the Kitchen…

Some tasty tidbits for you.

KIT KAT CAKE!

I have a real weakness for Kit Kats, but I’m convinced that the plentiful strawberries on top of this Kit Kate cake make it a healthy option. So it’s okay to just throw my face into it, right? Right?

Right.

Magpie Monday

Magpie Monday!

Welcome to another week! Please to enjoy the assorted sights, sites, and sounds of the interwebs I have collected for you. And I may have some tasty mid-week snacks for you, too.

HEAVEN IS A KIND OF LIBRARY.

Loved these pictures of La caverne aux livres, a train-car-cum-bookshop found in Auvers-Sur-Oise, France (north of Paris). The photos are courtesy of the Gallifreyan Detective’s tumblr (I found them at Boing Boing). Do click through to see more!

Video Friday

Noon is a scene from a longer screenplay by director Kasra Farahani. Here’s the official description:

Noon is a scene from a completed feature screenplay by Kasra Farahani and Ari Bilow (WGA# 1483455). The teaser sets up the world’s unique premise and introduces our protagonist, Gray, a coyote numbed to the cruelty of the world and his part in it. We watch Gray struggle to salvage what humanity still exists within him when profit is pitted against morality.

Chernin Entertainment bought the movie rights to Noon, and Farahani will direct.

Magpie Monday

Happy Magpie Monday, everyone!

THE NINTH ART.

For me, the big comics news last week (well, the week before last; I ran out of space and time to post everything I wanted to last week) was the reveal of some of J.H. Williams III‘s work on the new Sandman comic, titled The Sandman: Overture, the first issue of which will appear on October 30th. Below is the cover of the first issue as well as a portrait of Dream. Consider me in love.

Video Friday

Mrs. Peppercorn’s Magical Reading Room, a short fantasy film by Mike Le Han, has tons of charm to spare. I like the implication of what’s actually happening. Apparently a feature-length version is in the works. And, before you ask, that’s not Dame Judi Dench narrating (I thought it was her, too, at first) but Penny Ryder.
